Litigation
Kaplan Belsky Ross Bartell, LLP is well-equipped to handle a full spectrum of litigations from complex business and professional matters to individual disputes. Our litigation attorneys appear frequently before all of the state and federal courts in the area as well as arbitration forums. We are well known and respected for the quality and skill of our work. Our practice includes a wide variety of commercial litigation, partnership and shareholder disputes, breach of contract claims, all facets of real estate actions and family disputes. We also have a strong, but selective medical malpractice and personal injury practice.
It takes more than aggressive advocacy and trial experience to make a successful litigator. It takes the ability to see the client's business and personal goals and then develop and implement the legal strategy that furthers the client's objectives. We work with the client to evaluate the factual and legal settings and formulate a strategy designed to accomplish the client's goals as quickly and efficiently as possible. It is a collaborative process, not only among ourselves, but with our clients.
An expanding field of litigation is prosecution and defense of issues dealing with aging parents and children and disputes between siblings concerning family assets. Senior partner, Joel S. Kaplan, has handled complex issues involving millions of dollars and the emotional impact of such litigation on those involved. In guardianship proceedings, he has been appointed by Nassau County Supreme Court on behalf of allegedly incapacitated persons, and has been privately retained by family members, as well.
